Hi,

Would prefer a GoG version myself but just letting fellow Canucks know that the Steam version is "only" $66.49. That's an approx. exchange rate of 1.1 to the USD.

Buying it on GoG right now at $60 USD will set you back about $78 CAD at today's 1.30 exchange rate.

I'm now stuck on the fence if the $18 is worth buying it on Steam. bah...

Unfortunately, most games right now are less expensive (sometimes by a considerable amount) on Steam due to them selling in Canadian dollars and with a favorable exchange rate.

On GOG, the exchange rate would cost me more in addition to conversion fees from my bank.

I know some people would say the higher price is worth it, and maybe it is to them, but considering money is pretty tight right now and games are a luxury, I'll have to side with whichever vendor offers the best price.

Well, it's a bit worse in my case. Brazil has regional pricing on Steam, and compared to the GOG price, I'd pay almost double for NMS if I bought it from GOG. I would gladly pay 10-15% more if I had to to buy the game from GOG instead of Steam, but double? That's way too big a difference.

So, GOG, if you're there - any chance we'll have regional pricing for NMS on GOG? Some games do have regional pricing for Brazil on GOG, and I wonder why NMS doesn't.
It shows as $68 for me, so I assume there is some local conversion adjustment going on? Regardless though, I wont buy it at that price, unless I've seen good reviews first. This is a first time developer, and it will take a lot to convince me to open my wallet at that price range. A range that goes beyond most AAA developers, with far more experience. Don't intend to be mean, sorry if I come off like that. I am just discussing the price point, vs how little is known about this developer.

Neither Hello Games or Sean Murray is a first time developer. This is the second time for Hello Games and Sean was not exactly inexperienced when they started their own company.

This is no longer the case.

Steam price is listed at $66.49 CND with GOG listed at $66.49. CND

I started a thread mentioning that Canadian pricing was not competitive with steam got a tonne of flak for it on the thread but GoG realized there was an issue for Canadians and matched pricing, even if the rabid gog fanbois couldn't realize the problem.

So golf clap to GoG for matching Canadian pricing with steam. Well done ladies and gentlemen of gog.

For Aussies, GOG is about US46 and Steam is US59.

EDIT - forget what I said about the $50 price tag, the sale ended when I posted.

Cheaper for me on Steam and I'm from the UK. Almost £5 cheaper. Was going to buy from GOG, but now I'll think twice...
