So, the center opens up after you get enough stones, you go and suddenly...

It's like it's a ball of light that sends you out and back to crash on another planet in another galaxy?

Did I just miss something?

Or are you the creator of the universe and the stones are your key?

Does that make you...the creator of that galaxy, or simply that you got access?

If you are the creator, then why are you back to almost square one?

Or perhaps the entire key of the game is what they said originally, that it is the JOURNEY, not the end, that the game is all about.

It's a lazy ending to create a New Game+.

Even the galaxies are infinite.

I love the game but the whole thing is built on lies, and I don't understand why someone, even if it's just one person called Sean Murray, would sabotage his (in part) creation like that. It's psychotic.

The devs either wanted to be highly philosophical about how everything is endless and life is a journey and bla bla bla... or they were just lazy and added a bullcrap ending because they didn't want to spend time and money.

Well, I don't give them the benefit of the doubt. :)
