Why can you buy a ship if when you save it deletes. New to game, have played around 15 hours. Purchase a better ship off GEK, did not trade and pay difference, save the game at Base ships side by side. Load game today no second ship, and none of the cargo.
Still have original at base. What is the point of buying a ship outright???? Option in game if you can not own more than a single ship.

You need a freighter. They can store ships. Your purchased ship *may* appear in your freighter once you earn one by saving it from pirates. This used to happen on your third warp. The rescue mission happened for me on my sixth warp so it may have changed for the Beyond update.

Is there no warning of this before you buy a ship if you have no Freighter?

When on a planet and you call your ship , is the other ship there in the menu?

I had this happen too, and I ended up getting my old ship back by recalling it. When you open the recall your shop mode, move all the way to the right, and you will see the option to recall your other ship(s).

This bug was fixed in the new patch, apparently. This happened to me just reload from save point.

Yeah. It's either...

1) New people who don't know they can summon up to 6 ships, without the need of a freighter, just use the "summon another ship" option in the quick menu.

2) People who do know, but have encountered the bug (that's fixed by now?) that doesn't "add" the ship, as it claims on the button, but actually replaces your ship instead as if you hit "Exchange" when purchasing.
