Hopefully they will come through for us phenom owners.

Edit: Update on steam regarding new patch:

UPDATE: AMD Phenom Support
Thousands of lines of assembly have been rewritten to support AMD CPUs. The game code no longer relies on anything above SSE 2, Havok Physics has also now created new libs. Game is now confirmed working on Phenom CPUs.

If its the experimental patch steam has, if your processor can't support Supplemental SSE3 (SSSE3) it's still going to crash.

Last I read they were waiting on havok for a work around to get their physics to support SSE2, like the rest of NMS does with the experimental patch.

I could be wrong, but I think phenom processors are my like athlon and don't support SSSE3.

An easy way to find out is to google your processor with "cpuboss" and scroll down to features.

IMO they will get it fixed eventually, I just hope its sooner than later.
There are other fixes besides that that some might want (example the shader cache fixes which cause it to randomly recompile them).

Also, Steam is on their second beta/experimental patch now which supposedly has more fixes.

When did they release the second patch?

I got a copy of steams NMS experimental patch, and jerry rigged it to get to work with my GOG version (if it still was technically a GOG version). It actually played music at the hello world screen and then crashed, instead of not playing any music and crashing as soon as it started. The patch notes for the files I downloaded stated you still needed SSSE3.

Hopefully they got the SSSE3 requirement fixed and I got my hands on the first one.

Fingers crossed
Can`t stand Twitter. Don`t they have a normal forum like every other game Dev?
I have an AMD fx 6300 processor with a R9 380 graphic card and just launched the game, "stop working", neither I can see any logo and anything.... I doubt that tweet fixes any problem to me.... :(

None of the fixes are here on GOG.
Only Steam has gotten the experimental/beta patches so far.

3 experimental/beta patches for Steam Client users.
0 experimental/beta patches for Galaxy Client users.

This is a really small team and that would probably require hiring yet more people, and for the past few years and certainly now hasn't been a priority.

But most of all, if I was someone in the games industry, the last thing I'd want is another forum or platform for these stereotypical entitled brats to whine, whine, whine.

But what about those of us who really like the game and want to show our appreciation?

Not having a forum to avoid whines is like throwing out the baby with the bath water. Besides, they can use Moderaters for the extreme cases.

I connected to the experimental branch yesterday and it appeared to download a small update. Is it confirmed that there are still no updates on gog? I'm at work and can't try it atm.

I agree this obsession with companies putting their official info's out over social media is a really bad trend.
Even the big ones do it now. Bioware recently closed their official forums for example.
I assume it's cheaper to pay a few people to post on reddit, Twitter, and Facebook than it is to host and moderate a real forum.
They also mention lowering the minimum requirements and making it so the Radeon HD 6xxx series with run the game. I have a 6870 and am able to run it using a workaround with about 30 FPS, but it will be great to have it natively supported. They also mention performance enhancements so I'm crossing my fingers.

It downloaded 0 bytes yesterday, and it is confirmed the branch does not even exist at the moment.

It existed earlier last the day , but the beta channel has been removed for some unknown reason.

Also twitter can be full of people screaming and whining at them. I`ve heard games companies doing about turns on a good idea because certain groups (most who don`t even play the game) bully them into it. I`ve seen reasonably sensible (and I thought wise ) people act like idiots over Twitter.

Twitter definitely deserves its name and I still can`t understand why people keep falling for it.
