I was encountering pretty sizeable framerate drops when entering or exiting my ship on planets (no issues on space stations though). I was able to completely eliminate these on my machine by (i suspect anyway) deleting the shadercache folder (No Mans Sky\GAMEDATA\SHADERCACHE). It will regenerate the folder on next launch (and the star field loading screen will be super slow the first time). This is not ultra scientific or anything, but i did this while making no other changes (same version, same settings, etc.) and the problem resolved itself. I have since updated to the beta patch and still don't have this issue anymore.

If you have this problem, you might give this a try and let me know if it works. Let me know if it doesn't too i guess, if this is correlation rather than causation i'll just edit/remove the post.

Thanks!
In general, seems that deleting the shader-cache between patch updates and changing graphics driver tends to sort out some of the lock-up problems.
