halldojo: Yeah, I would look into finding a gaming package, you can probably get a decent offer on a gaming tower with most things in there, something decent not to high priced that should last you for some time. :)
Sophia: Well I already have a beautiful fancy case, I don't think that needs to be replaced. Plus an SSD drive and extra hard drive and Bluray player and power supply. Plus a husband who can handle a screwdriver ^_^ We're going to sit on the idea for a few weeks, but I'll make absolutely sure to come back here and update you guys on what we decided... and suggestions are always welcome of course!!!
Eeps, cross posting again! Thanks novumZ, I'll definitely keep that in mind as well... but that said I'm not sure what climate we ARE in haha (not kept up to date with hardware really). What would be a good time to consider upgrading?
Dedicated systems are often attractive at first, but these things tend to be churned out.
You have a nice case. Frankly that excellent. A case is for looking at. Otherwise they'd all be aluminium boxes!
Find a good vendor. Personally I like EVGA. They have loads of great stuff to daydream about, Their prices aren't bad and their after sales is excellent.
Look at your Power Supply Unit. Is it beefy enough? If you are going to build and expand, (as you seem to have done so far), then you need a bit of muscle. 750 to 800 Watts is a good start to aim at. Modular is tidy but more expensive. Save your money and get a non-modular.
Motherboard. Look for a good manufacturer. Cheap boards are flimsy and don't last. Asus is the best, and most expensive. EVGA has a good reputation. Personally I always buy Asus because the MB is the most essential and I want reliable, You will generally get your CPU to suit the board.

Be looking for your CPU cooler as well. A big passive cooler may not be pretty but it's better than liquid and a lot quieter. You should look for a lot of pipes. Don't skimp on this. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-cpu-coolers,4181.html
Graphics card. Be careful here. Tom's Hardware has run a hierarchy chart for some years and is the go to for comparisons. Go for the best you can afford. But be careful get a card that matches your CPU.

Sound. Some people spend loads on sound. Personally, a couple of cheap speakers with built in amps do me. I like to keep an ear open for domestic horrors. But in any case, not essential.
Tell us how you get on.
