Anyone else seeing horrible seams in planet textures from space?

I am seeing one or two in just about every new system now after the origins update.

Maybe its a badly done normal/bump map or the diffuse texture itself, but there is a seam which circumnavigates the entire planet, and another at 90 degrees to that making it look like the planets are 4 quarters stuck together and the edges dont quite match like a well made infinite texture should.

Hellogames are supposed to have fixed similar issues in the latest experimental, but I think that is textures when down on the surface, not the planetary sized ones. Or, maybe its the same ones but haven't all been fixed yet.
The texture issues might dissipate as your shader / texture / magic cache gets reconstructed with the new build.

Any visual glitches like that I explain away in the game universe's context by assuming that the visor and ship windows are not actual transparent material. Lots of bad zoomies out in space; a glass face shield would be A Bad Thing. So the exosuit and ship visual displays are generated by an inference engine in the suit/ship based on sensor reading, proxmity, hazard assessment, and so on. Trees over on the horizon not generating? Fine, I'm over here not over there. Yeah, it's kind of hand-waving away the capabilities and limitations of my rig but suspension of disbelief and all that.

The old DirectDrawSurface (.dds) files in the cache were deleted ages ago, it's something I do to get any new version of the game to "settle in" quicker ..

Here's the issue I am talking about, once you have seen you can't unsee :) ..

It's a problem with textures I have not seen in this game since 1.nn versions back in early 2017, you could sometimes see something similar on the surface of water back then.

This happening on planetary textures is new to Origins update.

See also this topic on steam I found soon after posting this topic on GOG ..

Pretty much the same description of the issue.

It has got nothing to do with your rigs capabilities, this is bad texture work. There were a couple of normal map textures in Skyrim like this which I fixed with Photoshop and GIMP for the Unofficial patch teams USSEP project.

Whoa, i've never seen anything like this. Which makes me doubt it has to do with the textures themselves though; if it did, the issue would be universal and everyone would be seeing it, since we are all using the same textures. And considering the player base of the game by now, so many more would have noticed it and posted about it than what that.

Maybe it instead relates with a mechanism aimed at seaming the textures together, which could perform differently among the varying hardware configurations of all those players.

Ahh... Roger. I hadn't noticed those. Might actually be handy if those correspond to the equator and the prime meridian ;-)
Not seeing it myself, but as i'm back on Synthesis 2.27 this is likely a new bug Hello Games have lovingly created for you? It might get fixed after a few patches/updates but then they will give you (lovingly off course) a new bug. It's the No Man's Sky way ;)

And just to be clear this game is so freekin huge and insane in scale and scope the maths of it is always going to see this be a thing. Maybe squint when you see the planets (or try a HD texture mod for planets)?

It may also be assisted in being visible for me due to my game settings versus anyone elses not seeing it.

All I do know is it's new for me since the Origins update, and my game settings have been consistent.
Perhaps it would be worth the time to pause next time the bug is apparent and play around with the settings, in particular resolution, rendering and post-processing options, as well as any such options that may be applied from outside the game (e.g. geforce experience or catalyst settings enforcing anti--aliasing techniques), to see if you can narrow down the conditions of the bug emergence.
