Looks like they did better than they expected and their eyes went `ka-ching` at the thought of the extra money they can make. They shouldn`t have said anything if they can so easily change their minds afterwards. Not consistent, not trustworthy.

I don't mind payed DLC as long as it adds great features and is reasonably priced. Especially a game like NMDS would benefit from heaps of updates.

However, first I think they should focus on integrating (for free) the features that they talked about in their promotional material like the proper planetary physics or the more dynamic gameplay in space with interacting fations that can have battles, different ship classes, more complex animal and sentinel AI, etc.

After that has happened, I wouldn't minds more content that can be monetized, especially story DLC would be nice, to give me more motivation to keep on with the grind (because right now, it's almost only grind).

This is definitely a not very welcome turn about, one of the things I really praised them for was the DLC-free model they promised.

But then, when I thought about it, it was completely unrealistic in the long run. I mean, the "long" long run (say year or two. Or five.)

However, Mr Murray should really stop daydreaming and pay more attention to what he says in the interviews, especially seeing how there is a huge chunk of "lovers" just waiting to pounce on slightest mistake.

- manual interstellar travel - you cannot reach any star
- what comes from the above: a not pseudo open world but a real one
- functional galaxy and system maps (waypoint management and show me where i am exactly where i came from etc)
- optional autopilot
- optimised performance
- option to kill intelligent aliens in fps mode like geks, would be nice to have fight with other than drones...

When I can't fly close enough to the ground to see where the hell I'm landing and can't slow down to a stop in space, you're damn right I want the f*cking autopilot to be optional.

He`s right about the flying low thing. It`s annoying being `carried` around by some invisible hand. I like this game a LOT, but let ME fly the ship, even if I crash into the ground. I want to be in control and test my landscape -surfing skills.

Wieldy enough you can fly low for a bit if you`re kinda slow (it might depend on kind of ship too). I even hit the top of a building, but I didn`t blow up or anything. So you can fly low, but it soon gets taken away from you by some invisible hand.
