This game being available on GOG encourages me there will be but does anybody have a source and answer; Will there be offline single player?

Thanks.

Edit: 3 damn posts in the forum and I don't realize one of them is already asking this question haha... Oops. My bad!

If it didn't have an offline component do you think it would be listed on GOG?!

At least the last known news I know of was this article for the PS4. Given they're "technically" the same universe for PC and PS4, it's likely going to stay with an offline option:

The universe isn’t stored on your hard disk or on server somewhere
•The world around you is generated by your PS4 at the point you visit it. Leave and it’s all thrown away, but if you return it is generated again exactly as it was. This also means the game will be completely playable offline.
This is fantastic news. I somehow disliked the idea of landing on a planet that was discovered by mr_assfaggot_2003 (is this one taken already btw?)

Agreed. That's my main worry about playing online. Sure, it'd be nice to see what planets / creatures players named but the risk of seeing "Horatio's Weepy D**k Cheese Fish" is kind of turning me off.
100%solo even when your online you only share what you discover but you will never see any player or come to planet thats already discovered.

Thats why the developers are switching it to offline because of that alone

You can play totally offline, and even if you do play online, the chance that you see any trace of other players is extremely small. (So small that for most people it will never happen).

Also, they've hinted to a profanity filter on naming things :)
