First generation is called "Worlds".

Didnt expected version 5 this quickly already.

I wonder what big things they'll change this time.

I'll probably keep playing 4.72 for a while.

P.s.: Judging by the information about it on the internet, this is mostly really a graphics update.

Was eager to try this version but I kept crashing when starting a new game for some reason.
Since the patches tend to be slow in coming to GOG I have reverted back to the old timey days and delay updating for at least a week until it appears that GOG is caught up with the critical patches that cause crashes, etc. There already is a 3xperimental update fixing 4 crashes on computers, one crash on a console and one issue for mac. GOG users are not allowed in 3xperimental.

Since the save game structure has changed making a restore point and a copy of all save files before updating is also a wise move. It is easier to roll back that go uninstall/install.

The update focuses a lot on graphics. It is possible that some graphics cards that worked before may have problems with these changes.

Delete all mods and return to main as no mods will be compatible and might create save corruption.

Some are claiming that the universe was reset while others respond that they did not experience this. Resetting the universe (planets change type, geography, biomes, etc.) was a great annoyance back in 2016/17 through 2018 or so.

Another complaint that I noted is that some existing settlements reportedly disappeared and bases were re-arranged but this also does not seem to affect everyone.
Downloading it now, super keen.

So much free content:

Specifically looking forward to the world variety changes and the starship trooper style bug hunt.

I can't remember where I read this, but they're also leveraging some Light No Fire tech in it.

Yes I also fear for graphics performance.

I'm using an older alienware notebook and am right now not in the position to get something newer.

Right now NMS runs very smoothly. I dont want that to change.

I mean I have the constant small bugs all the time, as they've always been present in NMS, such as falling throught the floor quite often, but nothing that stops me from playing.

Geromino: such as falling throught the floor quite often, but nothing that stops me from playing.
I have been able to avoid this by simply waiting for several seconds, sometimes more before moving. It sometimes, not very frequent, takes a while for the freighter to be built.
I fall through the floor quite frequently after teleporting to a space station or to one of my bases. Moving on my part isnt involved.

I only got a Freighter recently and dont use it much yet. Basically I installed the matter beam and the teleporter and I found out that you can now build unlimited large refiners in the Freighter, which is kinda neat. Well maybe there is actually a limit, but I installed 5 so far and no limit in sight.
First Patch is out.
Just a heads up, if you haven't loaded into the game yet, the loading screen is very stuttery, but once you load into your universe, it should be ok.
5.03 is out
