It seems like us win 7 users got a raw deal again, no crossplay for us . :(

Infact since this last patch it seems like we have no Multiplayer at all.

This was fixed today:
https://www.nomanssky.com/2020/06/crossplay-patch-2-53/
unfortunately it doesn't appear to be working.

I've installed the 2.53 patch, and I already have the windows update mentioned in the release notes, I installed it a while back because weekend events weren't working for me.

after a little bit of research it turns out this update isn't working for anyone and some win 10 users are also affected.

I'm having the same issue. The Nexus is *always* empty. It wasn't before all this "crossplay" BS. I've checked my Networking settings to ensure MP is enabled; it is as I haven't changed anything there. I've also already applied the TLS 1.1/1.2 Win7 update. I'm getting a "No Connection to Matchmaking Services" message when I open Settings|Network in-game. I have GOG Galaxy open too.

I dunno...
Everyone should open a ticket with HG with full description of the problem and state that you either have the TLS update for win 7 or you are using win 10. Right now they are just saying it's a win 7 problem and we need to get the TLS update which most of us already had. I've included the link to put in tickets.

So, does Game Devs fixed problem with Crossplay for Windows 7? Can someone confirm that?
Do you guys get all possible Nexus missions and a green icon for 'Online Connectivity' in the Discoveries page? That was the state before Crossplay update.
For those with Win7 who have applied the TLS patch, you must have GoG Galaxy launched, wether you did install the game with it or not. (Launch GG, then the game). But I doubt this will help, on Steam there is the same problem. It must be fixed by Hello Games.

BlackIris posted something on this in another forum:

Check your antivirus and/or firewall security history. Apparently Norton (and possibly others) was blocking NMS.exe from accessing the Internet for being too new so they didn't have enough history to decide if this was legit (too few users). He whitelisted NMS.exe and access was restored to information needed from NMS servers to make everything work.

Although I did not have the problem I did see at least part of this as I received a warning that "Data Protector blocked a suspicious action by NMS.exe." When I checked the details of this message it had the canned message related to being a new program with too few users in the community. After the second time that I ran into these messages I created an exclusion for NMS.exe and the messages stopped.
Multiplayer is now working on Windows 7 as of the 2.55 patch,or at least it is for me, I hope it's working for everyone else too.
It's working for me now also.
Yay!

It seems to be working for me as well. The Anomaly/Nexus was just packed with people. I no longer get that "No Connection..blah blah" error.

Good work HG!
Still not working for me. Updated to 2.55. Installed TLS update, did the extra reg key entries for it too. Run through Galaxy. Still nothing.

Sent a ticket, hope HG can fix this. :c

You may want to check that it's not something on your PC causing the issue (AV, firewall etc.) as I'm not seeing any other reports (aside from yours) of this problem persisting after the 2.55 patch.

I think you should not apply the TLS patch, that was an old solution only for connectivity, not for MP. The patch notes of 2.55 said it was fixed for Win7 so no need to also app.ly TLS patch.
I have a Win7 rig also (but playing on Win10 currently), I will soon see if it works, I don't install through galaxy, I just launch galaxy before I start NMS and it has worked until now.

I also had to change my MP settings before seeing Crossplay in action (on Win10), so go check your in-game options.

Okay, I figured it out!

Apparently it was my VPN. Turns out if you play NMS with your VPN enabled (even if both Galaxy and NMS are running through it), NMS can't connect.
I've never, ever had problems running multiplayer games over VPN, including NMS in the past. The only "issue" I've ever faced is slight lag, so lol, I completely forgot to test this the day I made my last post.
What's weird though is that this didn't affect the Steam version, only GOG's... :s

Anyway. Since then, disconnecting the VPN before launching Galaxy & NMS completely fixes the issue. So never mind!

Thanks for helping out anyway, TheDogCatcher and XenonS! :)
