Hi all,
Wanted to play NMS tonight as I have had little time for gaming in the last few weeks.
As I want to keep backups of the offline version of NMS files, I first logged in to GOG and did the latest DL.
I then started GOG Galaxy and got the latest NMS patch DL and install.
Through GOG Galaxy, I started playing NMS and saw my in game name was,as expected, my GOG name. However, I did not look at online status (bottom left menu screen) .
After a while exploring, went to discoveries page to name / log things found. I noticed then that the status message read:
'You have lost connection to online services'
I tried shutting down and restarting game and GOG Galaxy and also tried restarting PC - no luck in either case and still game shows the lost connection message.
As can be shown by my sending this post, my PC is online - as it has been when playing NMS.
So! Is GOG Galaxy offline (for NMS) or is this a HG issue?
What's the point of buying a game with online features if we cannot access those features (using online version)?
TLDR; NMS using online version through GOG Galaxy will not connect and only gives lost connection message.
EDIT: Tidy up!
EDIT: Further info; when starting NMS again through Galaxy, was returned to a previous save point and all progress lost!
