Hey all -
I'm wondering about save games. Three gamers in the house, three separate windows profiles, one computer. Do we need to buy this game three times (like we would on Steam) or will one copy allow us to all have different save games?

If it is installed on one machine, you certainly do not have to buy 3 copies, not here and not even on Steam... i'm not sure how the save format works but, even if multiple profiles are not supported by the game, since (again) you are using one computer, even the worst case scenario could be silved by a simple batch file that renames the correct save file before launching the game

Save location is profile dependent so all users would have there own save:

Location on a win10 system %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS

Fun Fact: after 5 hours of playing my entire save directory is 2.3MB

Of course, this doesn't provide me a solution, as we don't *use* multiple user logins for the computer. It is unforgivable that the game does not allow you to make multiple user profiles in the game. This damn well better be patched in post-haste.

Hmmmm, yea this IS problematic, especially for me, because I tend to play several characters, usually as experiments of trying different approaches to gameplay etc.
I suspect one of the first mods to come out would be

1. Save anytime you like
2. Unlimited save slots

No excuse not to have that really. Yes it changes balance but for offline single player, it does not affect anyone else but the player.
