Kirthalion: Found a way past the Hello Games screen but this isn't good news.

Followed instructions in this reddit thread:

Basically by emulating SSE4.1 we can determine the crashing is caused by a lack of SSE4.1 support.

If any of you are crashing after Hello Games appears, this may be the reason why. There isn't much you can do about it as the emulation makes it unplayable in terms of speed. You have to wait for Hello Games to add support for this.

I successfully loaded into the game but there was too much hitching and freezing to be an acceptable workaround.
If that's the case (and sure sounds like it is) then the developer should have a list of compatible cpus, I would think, as a minimum prerequisite for supporting the game.

The crashes are not related only to that. Intel processors have the required SSE support but I have crashes all the time. Half the time the crashes are because "Windows could not find some file" or something to that effect according to event log, which makes me suspect that the online component and possible connection flakiness could cause it.

Just ran chkdsk /f and sfc /scannow, let's see what happens next...
ugh...well, time to wait on a Hello Games patch for this issue...how did this not show up previous to their launch?
