Typical.. there's a working patch out in the wild and still HG have not released a download on their site, nor have HG/GoG brought the patch to genuine buyers of the game.
Yeah, Ali213 here too but I can save and load my gameplay without any issues....

Stray_Ion: WARNING!!

Everyone who goes this route, your saves probably won't work once GoG releases an equivalent patch. So that means you'll have to start over.

For me, I'm just happy I can finally play

chaosWyrM: that may be 100% true...i dont know.

i will tell you i was able to change my in game name to my own name by altering the ali213.ini file located in the binaries folder.

i changed the name and also added my own steam id number.

my in game name was changed and a new folder for that name was created in the profile folder.

now i havent tried altering the name of the ali213.ini file to my own yet, but that will be next.

maybe all this is pointless and we will never be able to use these saves once gog get on the ball and patches the game properly.

on the other hand...the new folder with the correct name that appears in the profile folder is promising. we will just have to wait and see.

for what its worth i dont much care...i just want to play the game, which ive been doing now for a 2-3 hours with zero problems.

the saves are working just fine...even after i changed the name and steam id...the old save loaded up with the new name...no problem.

oh...and do yourself a favor and get a reshade.
Could you please tell me how to change the name please? Changing from Galaxy doesn´t do the trick for me sadly. I tried by going to binary and editing but nothing. Thank you

Open the Ali213.ini in notepad, in the [settings] category, third function has 'PlayerName = Ali213' - rewrite it to whatever name you wish and save the file. Your save will load normally and you will have your desired nick (don't know how I could overlook it the first time around).
EDIT: My bad, figured out what was wrong.

I've not tried this myself, nor will I.
That being said, I'm not advocating piracy but, it's amazing that studios still allow this to happen. Pirates supplying fixes before it even reaches an official platform. And publishers wonder why people pirate, this thread is evident that this piracy occurs because of inherent service issues.
CD Projekt wouldn't allow this to happen with their own products, so why allow other studios/devs to do it on their own platform?
Just a quick question - is the ali213.ini file one that only appears with the patch, is it?
I don't see it in my vanilla GOG galaxy NMS folder.

Always happened this but because most of the publishers and studios are greedy so is their fault mostly. Sad but true. At least CdProjekt always managed to deliver their products in a reasonable way so kudos for them. But then you have examples like Microsoft and their FAIL GFW and their W10 Store, UbiLOL with Denuvo and their über intrusive Platform and EA with their abusive politics, Konami with the Metal Gear Saga, Valve with Half-Life... just to name a few.

What is happening now with Hello Liars and GoG is just another example of how bad and dishonest this industry is.. nothing new tbh

Any way to use your old saved games with the new beta patch?

If everything is working to you I don't recommend to download this "hotfix" just wait for GoG to deliver the official patch. This is just for people like me who not even can't open the game because of using an AMD platform, so is a desperate way to at least taste something of this game after spending 60 dollars.

It's not piracy if you own a game and download a NOCD or a PATCH for the game you have bought and paid for.
PIRACY is obtaining something you should pay for but are not.
Can you imagine ... oh no they are stealing the patch we give away free, quick get the lawyers.

Do you know who owns GOG?
The same CD Projekt Red you are praising.
Why are you calling them hello liars, do you even know why? or did it just seem clever?
What ever you do don't say multiplayer, because that is bullshit and misquoted.
From day 1 .... It is multiplayer BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT. We all share the same server, game, time, everything that defines multiplayer, but you do not get together with friends to play.
