Hi, I have never taken screenshots but would like to document some of the things I have seen in this game. I tried just pressing the printscreen button and pasting it into paint, but all I get is a blackscreen. Is there a way to take screenshots without putting them into paint? Sorry if this is a very basic question!

Use Steam overlay by adding this game to steam or use msi afterburner. GOG doesn't have this option yet.

I use the free version of Fraps. Works like a charm.

There's also the Windows Game Bar if you're on windows 10. It's free, takes screenshots and records game clips however long you want(Fraps Free limits you to 30 sec) and doesn't leave watermarks. In NMS, it doesn't always show up if you're running in fullscreen mode but it works.

Win+Alt+R to start/stop recording, Win+Alt+PrntScr to take a screenshot. If you open the Xbox app and go into settings, you can turn on a shutter sound when you take a screenshot.
