I pre-ordered but can't work out how to redeem the bonus ship?

Once the quest for fixing ship starts push esc and under one menu option fairly sure options.
It will replace the current ship to fix with the new upgraded ship you have to repair.
Just grab everything out of ship before swapping ...safe than sorry.

Turns out I hadn't downloaded the "dlc" for it. My bad!
