They are putting up a hotfix build on Steam to address some issues prior to a proper patch coming out.
These are not just Steam issues though. Will we have access to this here on GoG too?

I certainly hope so.

Notes from their post on Steam support forum.

We are going to create an experimental branch with hot fixes for these most common known issues:
• Shader Cache issue – means that framerate is initially stuttering on some cards. Whilst it resolves itself over time (~1 hour of play), we will fix this issue in a patch.
• SSE 4 – for CPUs that do not support SSE 4, it is causing the game to crash on boot (some of these area technically below min spec, but we don’t want it to crash!)
• Mouse controls jitter on foot – this caused by a combination of certain resolution and GFX card. A fix is in progress.

I'm sure we will get it here, though I'm not sure if dev can release patches directly on Galaxy ( it's been up in the air on which devs can access this right now). So it might be a little slower. But based on some of the comments from GOG staff about getting it out as soon as possible, they may have people working over the weekend since this was a big release.
B0SC0 said if any patches come in over night they will do there best to get them out ASAP.

Its nice to see GOG working overtime to get the game perfect :)

I noticed the new beta patch with the updated OpenGL from Nvidia really helps.
Sure hope so. Though this mess isnt their fault I understand that.

My issue is the game runs great it just looks like an upscaled mess. Like its really 720p running at 1080p.

Blurry textures, just a mess.

No Man's Sky Support
Whilst many people are enjoying No Man's Sky, we are tracking several issues, and we’re working hard to resolve them as quickly as possible.

1. We have updated our support page with some common issues and workarounds http://www.no-mans-sky.com/2016/08/pc-support/
2. We have updated the auto response from support@hellogames.co.uk to help suggest common fixes, and help gather better info
3. We have filed tickets for everyone who has mailed support and are responding to them in turn.
4. We have gotten back to a lot of people already, who were trying to run the game significantly below min spec.
5. Additionally your bug reports have shown us a handful of key issues we are working to resolve

We’re pulling an all nighter to get through as many issues as soon as possible. Please try to be nice :)

We have been working to get back to people on our three most common crashes on start up:
• Running the game with an Intel card. This is not supported
• No Man's Sky is an OpenGL 4.5 game, and requires latest drivers on most cards, please update
• VC++ Redist 2010 was not included by default. We have updated in a patch, please restart

We are going to create an experimental branch with hot fixes for these most common known issues:

• Mouse controls jitter on foot – this caused by a combination of certain resolution and GFX card. A fix is in progress.

Some players who have filed a support ticket will begin to be directed towards the experimental branch whilst we test solutions to these issues.

If your issues are not listed above please do mail support@hellogames.co.uk
Im sorry what beta patch?

You mean the beta drivers? Ya I do have those.

I just checked on Galaxy and it currenly does not have any experimental patches for NMS under the beta channel. So either the dev hasn't uploaded it yet, or they can't use this in Galaxy (which I can't fathom why GOG would not give them access or why they wouldn't use this here).

Well now they arent available on Steam yet either that I know of. They just said they are gonna create an experimental branch to help some who are having certain issues so it might be a while yet.

I just wanted to find out if they would send it here as well for us when they do get it up.

I believe the patch is for the PS4.

Nah not with those patch notes. Nor do I think PS4 does beta patching. It takes a couple days to go through certification on a console.

No, that was taken from Sean's Twitter feed, AND the Steam forum, and the content of the message clearly states PC related issues, such as "Running the game with under spec hardware" etc
Their simplistic explanation for SSE 4 is completely irritating. I crash at the logo, and managed to track it down to this likely being the problem...

First off, they should have updated their minimum specs to reflect that.
Second, my CPU supports SSE 4a, being an AMD. Apparently that means it does not utilize the full 54 instructions that actually come with support for SSE 4.1, SSE 4.2., and SSE 4a..... Only a partial amount. Lame sauce!

Hopefully this is just an optimization issue, and not a game killer. I'm not gonna do a full system respec for one questionable game. It would be nice if they were a little more straight forward...

There have been several games that fail on CPUs without SSE 4.1 recently. All of them, that I've seen, had a patch shortly thereafter that fixed it.

From what I've heard it seems like one of the most popular compilers just sets its default optimizations too aggressively.

Same here. After some tinkering*, I minimized the stutter, and the antialiasing is somewhat tolerable; but the 'upscaled' look is pretty unappetizing.

(Tinkering: Installed nvidia 369.00 drivers with 'OpenGL 2016' support; turned off AA from ingame menu, to force 8x FXAA via the nvidia control panel; set frame limiter to 'max'; switched to borderless windowed.)
