I couldn't find any help so far. Since I installed the pathfinder update many surfaces are black or not affected by lights. And the overall performance of the game decreased. Is there any fix?
Changing the graphics options have no effect and I already verified game data.
I have an I5 3570K and a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB.

For me the Problem was the new Nvidia driver 378.78. The old Driver 376.09 works perfectly with no graphics issues.
If you enable the new textures to Ultra, then you need a faster CPU for the same FPS. now No Man Sky need my Full 8GB VRAM from my GTX1080 for the Ultra Textures.

I had the problem with the old as well as the new driver. If there is no workaround, I hope they fix it soon.

I've got some grafic glitches with freezing screen when fighting sentinels on level 4-5, will make a support message to HG. It helps if you delete the cache files in the game and save folder.

My freezing screen problem above has gone away after I reduced the AA settings to FXAA. Doesn't make any visual difference for me anyway (Nvidia GTX 960). Just to confirm, I will try a *higher* AA setting than before and see how it goes.

Since the newest update I've gotten Graphical Artifacts, there were none before; little squares or lines visible mostly in the bases but also up close on the ships. My other games don't have any artifacts.

Following the discussions also on Steam, it is now confirmed that v.1.23 has massive problems with screen freezes, grafic problems in specific situations and FPS reduction compared to Foundation. My solution above for the freezes doesnt' work, alas, it was a coincidence that I managed to play well for awhile only.
