Took the portal and checked out a few bases in the system today. The low gravity race track was neat. It was raining when I went to see the see the sun dial, of course. I wasn't able to set a waypoint, as the system didn't show up in my discovery page. Ah well, I have about 640K LY left before reaching the core (I don't use cheats/expoits/etc, so I'll be there when I get there. I'm not in a hurry).

Glad you like the racetrack!

The system should show in your discoveries page. You'll probably have to scroll a lot. Using the portal and setting a waypoint was how I did it.

Jentuncegs: Hi. Found a wunderful underwater landscape in a system nearby, seething with fishes, and seabirds over it. [...]
This one is indeed very beautiful. The colours of the whole planet are very nice, too.
I ran into one of yours yesterdays discoveries today. It's s strange system with three planets but apparently completly uninhabited. When I looked arround in the space station I saw a white squid ship starting. Didn't want one so far but now that I've seen one in the wild... well...

The longer the journey the greater the arrival. But don't forget the rising prices of land!

Wow. Looks great! Where is it? Near your other bases?
Yes, [GoG-87] Airship Admiral von Schneider is close to my other bases on Prime. I've just uploaded it, but it still needs quite some detail (including proper propulsion).

That's quite a distance -- what's your Hyperdrive jump range ? Also, very nice of you to spend a visit -- alas, no one was there to welcome you, as it seems :(

I built a monastery in another system, far far away. It was smashingly great!

I think I will build a Holy Temple on Portokali. It'll be a place of peace and meditation.

Any objections?

And, KS, don't worry about the inauguration. It's all just for fun anyways.

When I was looking for it I only found your first airship. I noticed that your first base was gone, too... The same effect at CyberNek's base. Only one part / compuer left. I fear that there aren't all of several bases on same planet visible when your aren't online.

The only one religion should be God of Gnomes! No... wait, it was Good old Gaia.. ah.. can't remember right now ;)

Just kidding. I like places of peace. Just don't place it to near to the Water Park. The screaming people jumping from the tower could disturb the meditation. Not to mention the noise from the racing.

By all means, go ahead and build away -- this Star System has a lot of very nice spots for a monastery. Think Meteora (link points to wikipeda) in Greece, for example. Rebuild the set of the 'For Your Eyes Only' Bond movie, or find a small floaring rock and turn it into something special.

Which reminds me. This system very, very sorely needs a Blofeld outpost. Something along the lines of these http://www.angelfire.com/games5/nightfirerefpics/swo007pics.html

Crazy! It waaaay down the list rather than being on top like the rest of my most recent discoveries. Quirks man, this game is full of em!

lol... the drift suspension made for some hilarious moments of scooting around on the tail end of the Roamer, getting progressively further away from the check point I had already missed. I like the Roamer and Colossas, don't really care for the rest them (haven't even bothered learning them this save).

I finally threw in the towel waiting around for an S-Class Explorer and went back to a system where I knew I could find a fun looking A-Class Explorer. Fully upgraded, it's jump range is 2,236.1 which is roughly 285 more jumps, not including black holes. It's fine. I am using the time to build the a nice C-Class frigate fleet to level up.

It was sunny by the time I finished exploring the sun dial base. :)

I think I'll never really get used to screenshots like the one Tatwi posted. Having played the game in single player for so long a time, seeing a fellow traveler visit a place next door through a portal, build by another traveller I know and play the game with in this vastness of trillions of planets still takes some getting used to for me.

I really wish the game would (re ?)introduce a guest log for bases. Hand out a small gift to travelers activating my base computer, and record the name for me to see.

@Tatwi:

That's quite a range -- I guess you spent quite some Nanites on upgrades. maybe even shuffling through modules :)

I do keep the Emeril, Cadmium and Indium drive installed, since they provide additional range, if arranged properly. It's just around 80 LYs, but given the rather obscene stacksizes in Normal mode, I feel it's worth giving up inventory slots on my Explorer.

I thought they are in the timeline they were actually discovered and not the timeline they were discovered by you. But I don't really know.

How do you search for the Explorer? There's a better chance if you look in 3-star systems. In Korvax systems there are more Explorers. I build outlooks onto trading posts to see all 7 landings pads on one screen and sit up there to watch the ships coming in. You could save/reload to speed the process up - or just doing stuff arround while you keep an eye on the ships (I built the first prototype of the sundial while waiting for my new one) . Nice screenshot by the way. Thanks!

I found this old thread of mine from the time I started to explore base building and getting aware of beeing not completely alone in the universe ;)

-> GoGnMS looking for believers

Well, I reached the center and drew a line of monasteries. Meanwhile I deleted many of the bases. My present base on Gogus Prime is a somewhat bigger version of these monasteries. I think this first one mentioned in the thread is still out there but I can't remember right now. Hey, and I just realised that I met dashiichi before! You still have my pyjamas? ;)

EDIT: The base is still there. Very simple but for remembrence I'll update it to Beyond standard and keep it. The good old times... when I was 500k Ly away from center :)

I read the wiki, so I knew where to go. "Wikipedia: Demystifying everything since cat videos became a thing!". That siad, I try to keep the reloading to a minimum, as it really is cheating, but I'll do it to buy multiple S-Class modules (rather than porting to other stations to achieve the same results) and to force a re-rolling of the ships that come into the trading post. Super boring though and not how I'd like to spend my time. I just stand on top of the trading post and watch what comes in, then hop down if something nice arrives.

Thanks for making the sun dial! It was neat to watch the shadow move just like in the real world. Truly a feat of engineering, this game.

You also can start and land to bait new ships. It's an exploit, too, but more fun ;)

Seeing it work in nighttimes nonetheless somehow detracts this feeling... My mystics still are disputing about this fact.
OK, I've started on the Monastery. I'm not sure that I like it, though.

Please view the screenshot attached. Also, please drop by the monastery and walk around a bit. It if far from finished.

Please advise;
