The game runs perfectly fine, but it crashes every time when trying to change any display/graphics settings.

Error message:

"Vulkan Initialization Failure

Unable to initialize Vulkan Swap Chain. Your system may not have enough vídeo memory to support the current graphics settings."

My system specs:
Ryzen 5 2600
2 x 8GB 3200MHz
Nvidia GTX 1060

Things i've done trying to fix the issue:
- I updated to the latest nvidia driver (Nvidia Driver 565.90)
- I used DDU and reinstalled the driver
- I tried with an older driver versioin (Nvidia Driver 560.70)
- I've tried using a different graphics card (GTX 1650)
- performed a fresh install of windows 10 (i was on 11) with newly downloaded drivers

Note: When i manually installed the game without galaxy and without any patches the problem did not happen. Because of this i believe the issue is caused by a game update.

Did you update the game to the most recent release on GOG?

It may not be the same problem but I experienced something that I have seen other users report with the GOG version of the latest update to 5.12. In these cases the game would get past the first two very brief loading screens and when it started to load the game proper the game would crash.

My solution ended up being to revert to 5.11 using Galaxy where I selected Manage Installation > Configure and then selected the radio button for 5.11 which the format used in the window indicates that you are enabling auto-updates. It then downloaded 6.9 GB of files and rolled back the version which works just fine.

Yes, i'm using the latest version of the game. I'll now try to revert back to update 5.11 and check if there is any issue. Thank you so much for your reply.

I reverted it back to the 5.11 patch but the problem persists. I'm not sure anymore what could be causing this issue.

I did a quick search on Steam and although a few people had reported this problem no one posted that a solution had fixed this. There was some discussion about overlays sometimes causing this behavior and there was also a post on Zendesk from Hello Games but that dealt with mobile devices although the suggestion may, or may not, also apply to desktops.

I installed no man's sky through my xbox game pass pc and the game worked without any problems. I think the problem was either caused by GOG or Hello Games release files on GOG. I honestly don't know what the cause is. As of now i'm gonna play on Xbox.
