Hi,

I jut purchased No Man's Sky and it crashes as soon as I choose a difficulty level (Showing the attached error message).

It says:

"The game has encounters an error and will now shutdown.

Then it refers me to Hello Games' support site and gives me a token to use as reference.

I'm using a powerful enough machine to run this game and my Nvidia RTX 2060 driver is the latest one.

Please help :(

EDIT: The issue has been solved.

Go here https://www.nomanssky.com/about/

Click "Help Centre" (Top right of the page)

Click "Submit a Request" (Top right)

Request type, choose "Report a bug, Crash or Issue"

Give as much information as possible, including :

Do you use GOG Galaxy, or did you use the freshly uploaded Offline Manual Installers

DXDiag (compressed as a zip)
Vulkaninfo (compressed as a zip)
Any relevant screenshots of the issue

Where exactly you were in the game, plus a save game upload

I suspect you haven't got as far as a save game yet because ..

Unfortunately you have just purchased the game as Hellogames has introduced a problem for us Offline players, I got the same problem and reported the token number (plus all the above info) to them.

The good news is they usually fix crashes pretty quickly if they get the reports coming in.

And right now the Steam Depots where Hellogames uploads its freshest beta testing files have just been uploaded, so fingers crossed they are already in the process of fixing the problem I reported yesterday.

The bad news is GOG are usually the last out of all the platforms to update their public release Offline installers after the beta testing period is over .. So you could be waiting until middle / end of next week before you have a fixed version (assuming they do fix your issue in that version).
The problem will be fixed in the next version of the game to go public.
I just tested the Experimental Beta of the game and did not have this issue anymore.

I have the same crash.
yeah lets hope the experimental branch that works without crashing is pushed publicly very soon.
Got it to launch with the experimental branch, but it seems networking function is disabled..... or broken, or whatever. I guess it's to be expected from this team.
ohhh.. so this is not wine's fault afterall :D :hopeful:
How did you fix? Still crashes when i pick difficulty.

No idea how to download experimental patches.
