So, for anyone trying to figure out how you get stuff out of your Freighter without having to go there each time...

I usually have my Freighter in orbit, right above my base. And it was kind of tedious to use it, or the (massive!) Storage cubes. I just pushed stuff I wanted to keep up into my freighter, basically - but that's a one way street, or so I thought.

Watching some videos, I found out you were supposedly able to transfer stuff from your freighter back to your base! But it did not work, no matter what I tried. Until It suddenly did, and I had no idea why.


So, here's what I found out:
It had to do with my Exocraft being in range of my storage cubes.
Yes. When I parked it on it's pad further out, I couldn't transfer from freighter to base, but when I drove it up and jumped out to quickly grab something out of my storage, I could.


tl;dr:
So, if you want to transfer stuff from your Freighter back to your Base, put your Exocraft pad closer to your Storage Cubes...!

This has to be a bug. I'm sure they intended the transfer between Freighter and Storage Cubes to work regardless of your Exocraft. That's why the Cubes are so massive. They're basically "matter receivers" for your Freighter to send you stuff from Orbit. And I love it.

That`s useful, just got the Freighter myself. Feels almost overpowered.

From what I gathered, this used to work exactly like that for a long time, but without needing your Exocraft nearby. Storage Cubes make much more sense that way, too - they're so incredibly massive, and have only 5 slots. Now, with "unlocked" stack size for the most important resources, it's gotten even less useful as a Storage of it's own.

I wanted Minecraft-y "chests" instead for a long time, before learning about this. Now, with this feature learned, I'm good with the Storage Cubes. Just need to be fixed to work without Exocraft proximity again. =D
