-search for \GOG Games\No Man's Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS
-Then open this file with notepad: "TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML"
-Search for the "Gsync" option and change True to "False"

Edit: If that doesn't help.. Those with Nvidia Gpus make sure to use max fps in settings (ingame) and set Adaptive vertical sync in 3d settings on nvidia control panel. Made a world of difference for me.

set the ingame FPS max to MAX or 90 as well...

also the new beta OpenGL from Nvidia work like magic!
Made no difference for me. Performance is still very poor.

I have a G-Sync monitor here and for the most part I'm getting 50-60fps without changing anything other than setting the game to windows mode. (I allowed g-sync in windowed mode via the Nvidia control panel too).

The only issue I had was one attack from the drones on a planet caused FPS to drop to 1FPS until I restarted the game. Never had the issue since after hours of play.
I think it helped with the stuttering.

Moving game to SSD fixed stuttering on ALL of our rigs. I suspect the game pulls mapping data from drive. I bet a lot of people have slow HDD's.. SSD is the fix for that IMO. The game is small, move it to your small SSD and then test again.

Also disabling your Graphics card Shader cache helps as well.

Interesting, I'm running off of a 7200rpm drive and it works just fine getting 60+fps with everything turned on.

I have only SSDs, PCIE M2, it's not that.

I have no reason to do this. The game runs fine on my system. The stuttering/hiccup has gone away by using the gsync off option and when I start a game re-appears but instead of staying with me as it used to, it now goes away after 5-10 seconds or something.
this game sucks

NOPE the driver just made the stuttering worst.
