ThorChild: There is a reasonable size difference between the old 2mb 1.09 and this new 6mb 1.09.

I seem to remember there was some issue Steam users were complaining about that we did not have in the old 2mb 1.09 patch, something to do with stacking or some other inventory thing that was made more cumbersome. We might have that issue now?
well, do the stacking mods at least still work?
I hate to have so many slots full of things that are not stackable (like atlas stones).

But I also hoped for more than just a few bugfixes. I still want that content they showed in the demos. And because it was in the demos, it must be inside but not yet used.
Today I saw a mod that adds shipwrecks (the big ones) to the game, but it has it's bugs. I hope something like that will be delivered in a new future patch by hello games without those bugs, the mod has.

Would be nice if the developers would give us at least a vague roadmap where the game is evolving like they promised and at least a few vague dates when some content-patches are inbound.

This drastically improved my overall framerate. Now on constant 60fps. Can't believe we had to wait a month for this one.
oh! very interesting info Myrddin_2001 :)

I'm going to give it a go later today and will report anything i notice that is different from my current (old) 1.09 (2mb version) game.

I'm going to give it a go later today and will report anything i notice that is different from my current (old) 1.09 (2mb version) game.
For reference, my PC specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 3.3Ghz
8gb ram
Nvidia GTX 970 4gb
Win 10 64-bit
(and an SSD install, though I think this is irrelevant)
And i was just about to edit my post.

I was confused, and made a mistake. The current 6mb 1.09 patch for the non galaxy GOG version IS the old original 1.09 patch. It does indeed seem the new patch is not for non galaxy users yet. :(

Good news, then.

It could be the long aticipated threading optimization supposedly missing from 'old' 1.09 GOG patch:
https://www.gog.com/forum/no_mans_sky/gog_109_missingbroken_functionality_again

...or some more macro guarding in shaders.
(In 'old' 1.09 they put the macro D_PLATFORM_PC_LOWEND around some shaders code. Whether the macro is to be set by the engine rather than manually at debug time, which hardware is considered 'lowend' and what impact on performance and quality has, I really can't tell.)

We'll see

Well been trying the experimental branch (1.09.1)
and it improves performance by a great margin (at least for me it did).
I suspect it just fixed the threading issue of 1.09.
Otherwise haven't found anything else of note.
Hi

I was looking for informations on this 1.09.1 update because the galaxy client downloaded the entire game over (2.5 Go) which is rather unusual for such a "small" update.

Anyway it's true the game runs a LOT better now, i could finally push all the graphic settings to the max with my 980 and experience smooth framerate.

I guess it's bad timing with the "twitter hack" thingy, but i for one still expect new content sooner or later. Some communication or road map would be nice, nothing new to say but a lot of studios did choose transparency other silence and it worked well for them.
How do you access the experimental build? THX :)
Was not sure where to put this, but as it does also show the experimental build data (for Steam) it can go here.

We have had a number of internal build updates this month, which means they are building up to release something (most likely), data here:

https://steamdb.info/app/275850/depots/

last one was yesterday, so they are still working on the game :)
Internal build has been updated again today to build id 1460929. HelloGames are definitely busy :)
And again today (18th Nov). This is much quicker than previously, something is definitely going on :)
