Nice catch, thanks posting

Replaced the previous HBAO implementation with a newer and higher-quality temporal AO solution.
GTAO is so much better, HBAO made some strange shadow lines on distant landscapes, thats no longer an issue with GTAO which is also supposed to be better for performance. It has three settings to accommodate a wider range of machine specifications.

In the current experimental NMS, GTAO is missing some descriptive text on the settings page.
I submitted a Zendesk report ( support+id328678 ) about this minor issue.

Carbon planters still not working for me. Tried deleting and rebuilding but that didn't help. Have also tried adding an additional planter and running power. For me, planters are not working at either the base or on freighter. However, have not seen this mentioned in Steam forums.
EDIT : it updated!
how to access this build?
I entered the password from VUlkan beta:
"3xperimental"

Then in the Channel drop down select Experimental Beta

but still on build 52447 not 52717..

Another update today with following posted on Steam by Hello Games.

•2.13 changes the metadata format for some alien and mission dialogue. As a result, mods that change this data may crash the game. Therefore, the DisableMods.txt is restored by default while players verify their mods.

•Fixed a crash related to starship technology inventories.

•Fixed a crash that could occur when rendering player names containing non-standard characters.

•Fixed a number of UI elements that scaled incorrectly in custom resolutions.

•Fixed an issue that could cause text to appear blurry.

•Reverted OpenVR to previous revision to address performance issues.

•Fixed untranslated text in the Survey Device HUD.

•Made the use of Teleport Cables more clear, and fixed a number of issues with their functionality.

•Fixed a number of collision issues aboard freighter bases.

•Fixed a duplication exploit with Supply Depots.

•Fixed a crash when using hotkeys to deploy creature baits.

•Removed an incorrectly visible widget when placing electrical wires."

Yeah and I think there may be a few stealth fixes too which were embarrassing oopsies in the first beta they may not wish to 'fess up to :)

One thats immediately apparent, the description for the new GTAO Graphics settings has now appeared in the latest experimental .. Screenshot

Very good to see such a prompt fix to one of my Zendesk reports though  @Hellogames

Edit : And a well done to Innes McKendrick on his awesome hike, not just for doing it all but surviving .. Thats one hell of a walk with a fair few dangers he is not natively used to, even coming from Scotland. Bravo!.

He may just have got back to Guildford a bit quicker than he thought though :)

No sign of 2.13 on the NMS website. Nice to know they are concerned about steam. I play on PC without a gaming platform. I have installed each experimental update and see no change. The game always crashes within the first few minutes, sometimes within seconds, with the error code
(version number)_oxE4DD56_ and although I have posted this error message to them after each new update, nothing changes. I'm begining to think they are writing us PC only players off. This seems strange given their excellent past history of updating for everyone.
I would hope that Gog would raise this issue with Hello games as DRM free games are a big part of Gog's business.

Since many people are not having the same problem as you, it's most likely that there's an issue on your machine. It could be video drivers, or an incompatible video card. Or perhaps something to do with your OS, or any number of other things. I suggest that you run a DXDIAG from the Search on your task bar and then save the output as a text file on your desktop. Then, send that in with a bug report to Hello Games.

However, they may not respond, or if they do, it could take some time. Perhaps if we knew more of your system setup, someone here or perhaps even on the Reddit forums could help. Give us some details on your system and we'll try to help.

2.13 is still in beta, the second update to the beta has just uploaded on steam depots today, I would imagine 2.13 will be made public by the end of the week or early next week.

As for your error, its a bit off topic for this thread, but I had a good search using various search engines to see if there was anything similar anywhere else in the world currently .. Nothing. Not even a Microsoft Knowledgebase article or similar anywhere.

I would agree with Velgor, you have some kind of Operating System / Driver / Hard drive / whatever issue, if it was a game issue there would have been other reports on reddit or somewhere. Nil response from Hellogames means they can not reproduce your problem, so they cannot help.

Edit : It may be worth opening up a seperate topic on somewhere more popular like reddit dedicated to your issue, give as much detail as possible (OS version, Graphics driver version, DXDiag report, Vulkan report, where you installed your game ..), and see if anyone might have a clue. The more information about your setup the better. Where you installed the game (and / or any game Clients like GOG Galaxy or Steam) may be important in case you have installed the game in a custom location which is falling foul of windows read / write administrative permissions.

Windows Event Viewer may help you to get more information about what is giving the error, or just more details about the error which can then be searched for.

For what little it may be worth since yesterday's experimental update to 52829 noted two changes:

Carbon planter now working inside a building that has power. However, carbon planter on freighter now shows no power icon with electrical connection prominently displayed but wires not an option to install.

Base sorting with standard teleporter is no longer kept atop the list. Instead it appears to be subject to the last visited rule and instead of being teleported to the base computer, was sent to the teleporter outside.
Experimental 52916 is up ..

Update to Experimental Branch 04/10
Additional UI scaling fixes.

Probably fixes a few things more that have been wrong with the betas so far this week, and likely this will be the last of this experimental phase before it goes public .. Which I guess will be next Tuesday or Wednesday before we see the GOG Offline Backup installers released before the next patch / updates. Fingers crossed there are more fixes to come.
