I'm playing offline only, but would like to try this Expedition thing that I recently heard about, but I can't seem to start it. I'm guessing it is because I don't use Galaxy and are playing offline?

If I start Galaxy and then start No Man's Sky, then start an Expedition and save the game, and then exit and close Galaxy and restart the game, can I play the Expedition offline without anything online-related happening to my other save-files, like having other people's discoveries and named planets and stuff appear? :)
I use Galaxy but play NMS with multiplayer turned off.
You can start Expedition, get your ship and save, then turn the multiplayer off...
How will it work? I don't know, I don't have time to play this month, but try...

Thank you very much! This worked perfectly! :) Sorry about the very late reply, I've been busy playing all day and I just completed the Expedition, still offline! :)
So none of this content is for Offline players? or Do we need a save game from an GoG Galaxy (start brand new) then load it in offline?
I'm not a regular Galaxy user (prefer to not use it at all), but:

1) I always start an Expedition via using Galaxy.

2) Then, while doing the Expedition, a mix of I might or might not use Galaxy. Doesn't seem to matter.

3) To "complete" the Expedition (the very final step at the least), I also use Galaxy.

I don't know if #1 or #3 are necessary, but I do it that way "to be safe". Haven't [yet] run into any issues (such as - can't claim my rewards on other saves, etc.).

This is how I've done all four expeditions - Exp3 and Exp4 were the first ones I did. Then, Exp1 & Exp2 during this "redux" period. No problems so far...

I was a bit late for Expedition 1 Redux, so I went offline, set my system clock back, and was able to complete the expedition.

I was using Galaxy, but I don't think that really makes a difference.

Expedition 2 Redux is a bit harder to do outside the official time window however, since you need to pay 80 quicksilver for a mission critical item and the game will only give you 45. I think you'll need a save editor to get through that if you don't do it now.

I have now done Expedition 3 and 4 and 1 Redux and 2 Redux offline (but sadly had to start them online) and it has worked OK thankfully :)

The only problem was in the last Expedition where I had to buy a quicksilver item. Getting the quicksilver wasn't a problem since I could get more by either finding more of those alien places than the mission asked for or do one of the mission thingies in the Anomaly, but it turned out that the item wasn't available to buy from the NPC at all even though I could afford it. Not even when I restarted the game. Turned out I had to start Galaxy and go online for the NPC to get the item so I did, I bought the item, saved and closed the game and closed Galaxy and then started again and could continue from there.
