No matter what I do, I can't turn the Exocraft using the keeyboard! It only turns when I change the view using the mouse, then press "W" to move forward.

Basically, "W" and "S" work, but not "A" and "D". Nor do the keys that I remap Exocraft LEFT, and RIGHT to.

I have tried remapping them, removing all the Gamepad control settings (not all were able to be removed), I even unplugged my joystick (VKBSim Gladiator MKII) just in case ity was interfering.

I have tried uninstalling, making sure to remove saved games (backed up first of course), and settings.
Removed all mods.
All to no avail.

I'm curious, does anyone else have this issue? I have created a bug/problem report with Hello Games, and so far, they have just replied with what I assume to be a standard reply:

Remove mods.
Make sure Graphics Card drivers are up to date.
Uninstall/reinstall game.

Note. Getting in before anyone suggests to "just stick to using the mouse view direction for controlling the turn". I lost an arm in a motorbike accident, so I can't use the mouse and keyboard at the same time.

Here too. As you say, A and D don't steer left or right in an exocraft, nor do any remappings of those functions to other keys have any effect.

Looks like a genuine bug. You should report this to the Hello Games bug tracker to get it onto their fix this list.
I have reported this to Hello Games
They replied to it with suggestions (the usual stuff about having the latest graphics card drivers, and no mods) that might fix it.
Turned off the mods, and the Graphics Card drivers are the latest. Uninstalled/reinstalled NMS after backing up the saves. Problem still remains.
I have replied to them, telling them that I had done everything that they suggested to fix it (and that it was happening before I even knew how to use mods with NMS), so their fixes didn't help.
I'm now waiting for their next reply, and hoping that they will accept that it's a bug.

I don't think it is a bug. It's been this way since I've been playing. I have 550 hours in.

I always use the mouse.

This is probably old news to everybody else but I've just been playing with it because nerd and therefore it must be the coolest thing going, obviously.

Anyways, been looking into MicroPython (see: nerd) and running through its tutorials. One of the interesting things on their standard devboard is an accelerometer. Since the devboard can be configured to boot up as an HID (mouse), out of the box it looks like making something like a head-mounted mouse with a full range of motion is do-able. Or, since most of Python is available, something like a set of rudder pedals driving the A/D inputs to mouse movements?

Just a thought. It's a fun little board, tho!
