I'd like to play GOG's version NMS in VR -- is that possible and how well does it work? Do I need to do anything special to make that work?

I'm using the Quest 3 for VR, by the way.

Update:

I managed to get it to work by following the instructions a post in this forum titled "Command line to lauch in VR mode from the EXE" (sorry, GOG won't let me post links in this message or I'd link directly to the post)

Basically, I just created a desktop shortcut to the NMS.exe file that ran something like:

"E:\GOG Games\No Man's Sky\Binaries\NMS.exe" -HmdEnable 1

Then I started up Virtual Desktop on my Quest 3 and the Virtual Desktop Streamer on my Windows 11 laptop and then double clicked on the shortcut I created to run the game.

Unfortunately, it was pretty disappointing for a few reasons:

1 - The performance was abysmal -- maybe 1 frame per second, so it looked like a series of static images rather than smooth flowing motion. The VR version of the game is clearly not optimized for the Quest 3.

2 - Instead of moving freely and smoothly like in the non-VR game, you kind of "teleported" from place to place by selecting the spot you wanted to go to with the left controller joystick and letting go of it. That really hampered immersion as it felt like you were playing a game rather than being in the world itself.

3 - The graphics settings in the VR version were dialed way down to the minimum (and even then the game performed horribly), so while it was cool to be in the Anomaly and see it all around you instead of on a flat monitor, because of the low graphics settings it just didn't look all that great -- with obvious pixelation everywhere.
