So, just curious but if you're on a planet, will it always have the bare necessities to fuel your suit, ship etc, or could you end up landing on a planet that is void of a resource that would be required to fuel your take off or whatever?

Thanks
Pretty much every planet has plutonium for your launch thrusters and multi-tool - either on the surface or underground. You need zinc or titanium to power your life support - or batteries from cargo drop locations.
I think that's how it is.
In all the planets I've been on, I've always found the resources needed.

Not necessarily in vast quantities, but it's always there.

Survival mode drops the quantities/frequency but not to the point that it's not available at all.

In my first system, 1 of the 2 planets was a big one with only rock and caves made of rock. I have found nothing else than the materials that showed up in the scanner from space, it was Nickel and Aluminium. If I remember well there was nothing else. So if this was the only planet in the system, and there are such systems, then I guess you could be stucked if you are not careful, I always try to keep at least 100 Plutonium.
