Hi,

I purchased NMS a few months ago and enjoyed it however after I finished the questline on the first planet and took off to the next planet I was unable to continue playing. Every time I got to the point where the game would transition from space to the planet's surface it would crash to desktop. I tried every solution suggested by others who have had similar problems but nothing worked. I had to request a refund.

My system is more than adequate to run the game at max settings:
i7-8700 3.2 GHz
16GB RAM
GeForce 1070 Ti 8GB
Game was installed on an SSD.

I see the game is on sale again and I'd really love to play it but I'm afraid I'll just encounter the same problem again.

My question: has this issue been fixed at some point or has anyone come up with a solution to this problem?

Thank you!

Your systems specs are good for this game.

Your issue is unusual.

First thing to do is report it :
Go to the official site-->https://www.nomanssky.com
Scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click "Help Centre"
Then at the top right of the next page click "Submit a request"
Then for "Request type" choose "Report a bug crash or issue"

Give your system details
Mention if you are using mods or not (old mods which have not been updated for the current game version can cause all sorts of problems)
Describe the problem

There are quite a few drop down selections to choose from, and selecting "Issue type" = Crash should get looked at as a priority - I would imagine if you get the report in ASAP they will be fixing it in the coming week.

When you get to the end of filling everything in you can also Add files

Give them your DXDiag and Vulkaninfo - If you have never done this before have a good read of this page-->https://www.egosoft.com:8444/confluence/display/XRWIKI/Retrieving+DXDiag+and+VulkanInfo

Edit : This GOG forum is making weird URL links ^^ here's the site with spaces in ..
https:// www.egosoft.com:8444 /confluence /display /XRWIKI /Retrieving+DXDiag+and+VulkanInfo

Also give them a save game to help them try and reproduce your issue, located on your hard drive at ..
C:\Users\username\appdata\roaming\hellogames\nms\
Just zip up the nms folder

Edit : Are your NVidia drivers up to date, current WHQL drivers are at version 456.38, which includes Vulkan API v1.2-->https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/drivers

Thank you for the suggestions - I actually took a chance and bought it, tried it again and it's working fine now. It was back in April when I bought it the first time so apparently one of the patches since then did fix it!
