So, I just went to the center of the galaxy and the animation played. I think the simulation have been reset, but I'm not sure. I got thrown out to 700LY away from the center and everything that I couldn't move to the tech inventory got destroyd.

But when I read up on this as I had problems jumping to the center, I read that you get to choose what type of galaxy you want to create. But I didn't get any option at all, I just got thrown into a new galaxy/simulation.
I'm feeling a bit cheated...

Have they changed this in a recent patch? Is it supposed to be this anticlimactic?

I could be wrong, but I believe that when you travel to the center of the galaxy the "normal" way (jump after jump), you just end up in the next galaxy.

The only time you get to choose is when you finish the Artemis path. I just did it and got the choice what type of a galaxy you want.

I'd say, that the answer is entirely correct, and would like to kindly ask you to mark that post as such -- there's probably a lot more players running into this question, and having a bright, shining 'SOLVED' on this one will do some good :)

Yes, in the Artemis path, you get to choose. That's how I went from Euclid (galaxy #1) straight to Eissentam, (#10).

I'm having a question and i want to post it here cause it also got a Spoiler:
If i decide to not reset the system in the quest, can i change my decision later, so that i can choose 1 out of the 4 galaxy types?
I just traveled to the center for the first time now.
