NovumZ: Any chance someone could post direct links for: VC 2010, 2013, 2017?

Mind as well make it a solution even if it doesn't work.
win7 is my last ms product.

I still cannot believe someone at GOG (DRM-FREE) store support would say; or just get windows 10 to fix my issues with game that worked before update!?!

ksj8ak2: ThorChild got it right -- I've since checked, what nms.exe is linking to, and it pulls in all of these VCREDIST releases.

Guessing from the (partial) error message you posted, it seems like you're missing more than just the 2017 Visual C runtime.

Try the link I posted: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Download and install the Visual Studio 2017, 2013 and 2010 distrubutions, respectively.

While I kind of get, why GOG support might have responded the way they did, I very much agree with you on that not (even remotely) being an acceptable suggestion.
I've got 2017 download, just need direct download link for 2010 and 2013 if you can.

2010 redistributable: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999 (download vcredist_x64..exe)

2015 redistributable: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145, and as above, download the x64 exe).

I do assume, you're running some x64 release of Windows. If you don't, try the x86 installers.

Edit: Sorry, got that mixed up. Here's the direct download link to the 2013 one: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784, instead of to the 2015 one

Thank you so much! :) ksj8ak2
I will mark this as solved and tinker to see what happens. Thank you again!
Thanks to you all who were helping with this. I was just having the same problem (hitting "Play" from galaxy did literally nothing, and running the NMS executable manually gave one of the errors OP mentioned) and the 2017 VC redist solved it.

So just wanted to give a thanks and keep this up near the top for a little bit in case others also have this problem until HG gets around to fixing it....
I'm still trying to install VCredist 2015/17 with no luck.
I-1-1-0.dll error. So I've manually inserted all these dll's to where nms.exe is but then I get a different error: (0xc000007b)

I pulled these dll's from both dead cells and grim dawn.

Sounds silly, but have you tried creating a support request at https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Yeah I did couple weeks ago, I've sent them three support requests. First was a day after next came out, then two requests week after that. No response.

At this stage I wonder if there's a hack to play it with VCredist 2013.

I mean: when the game came out first it only used VCredist 2010 and it looked spectacular I don't see why they made 2017 necessary to even start it now..

Support has told me that no such patch will be available as to run the game on pre-VCredist 2017. So yeah, still not able to play NMS NEXT due to VCredist 2015/2017 not installing.

Works now, cool!

-copied dlls and inserted them where NMS.exe resides.
