There is a hotfix for most common problems on the steam platform, it's a beta optional update tough , can I download it if i'm willing to use galaxy client?
The 1.31 update was released earlier so you have two options to install without going to a beta version (Hello Games calls these experimental):

1. Install now using the Galaxy client.
2. Wait until tomorrow when GOG makes the necessary changes so that it can be downloaded for installation without using Galaxy.

I always wait a week or so before thinking about installing any update to No Man's Sky. Within a week of releasing a new game version there will be at least two, if not three, emergency patches so rather than to deal with the problems I just hold off for a little to allow the major crashes or other issues to be corrected. I still download and save each version as they are released, just in case, but wait to install the later patched versions.

Hey thanks for the info Chewy, I downloaded originally from the web install and tried this version 1.3. I must say the game is really in a state that is soooo much more actual FUN than the countles times I installed it, so I will probably play it asap, and wait for hotfixes. I bounced very hard from the game when it launched and on both previous patches, but with this one it really think it captures what I was expecting from the original vision, just some bugs to get ironed out. Already installed galaxy and it said right there that there was a version 1.31 so will jump to it now and change to the galaxy-less version once it hits a stable release as I'm not a fan of galaxy and prefer the plain version.
