As much as I liked base building, the new hamfisted tutorial sucks ass. For starters, being forced to build a base before you have access to warp fuel, or even space stations, is horrible. Between the desperation of needing more inventory space ASAP and not wanting to settle just anywhere, this is just a horrible way to handle it. Then there is the power grid… First build a generator and connect it to the portal, no problem right? Then you have to fuel it with all of a power resource, no matter what you do. Split a stack? Fuck you dump all of it. Split the stack and put most of it in your ship and park the ship on the other side of the planet? Fuck you, your dumping all of it. No choice in the matter, all of that resource you farmed up to that point is forfeit to the tutorial. Sure it's a drop in the bucket in the long haul, but losing your entire stockpile of a vital resource early on is terrible. But it gets better, deconstructing the generator doesn't give back the remaining fuel.

Base building is great, the tutorial is not. Base building should be a side quest, not a roadblock to the rest of the game.
Totally agree. It should not be the gateway to everything. Just spent about 4 damn hours to finally get the essential Bluprint to the Anti_Matter and be left alone. I almost quit. It kills the fun of just exploring. All that building stuff should only pop up when the Player by himself starts to build.

I think I`ll send a pm to Hello Games to ask them to change this.

It is annoying taking that in previous version you started with jump drive already fitted.
All you had to do is to repair it and fuel it up.

I was fortunate enough that I had really nice planet in my starting solar system so I was ok to settle there but it still feels like too much too early in the game.
