In Foundation Update 1.13:
When you build, there is no Undo feature, you have to use 'Delete' to remove somthing. Problem is it doesn't always work, at some point it will add stuff instead of deleting it, that's a big nuisance.
I had to reload my game several times and start again. Also because of that flaw you risk to be stucked in a room you build. If you make larger base extensions or changes when building, then I recommend:

- Backup all your saves before or you may run in a dead end
- then frequently go in your ship and leave it to save the current game state (and your building progress)

I hope they will fix that soon,

What are you using to control the build menu? I use the Steam controller and built configurations to handle it and I know from some controller functions you can end up adding build items by mistake. Also on the regular saves (cant argue there!) but it is easier to "build" a save point right outside your habitat and use that than keep returning to the ship.

Thanks for the advice on the save point, yes it's in the Tech tools and it's better to use. I don't use controller, only mouse and keyboard. I start the building process with z and the mouse wheel to scroll through the categories. For deleting I hold down left CTRL and press F if an object is highlighted, works almost all the time. But at some point, as I said above it will add the same object instead of removing it, but you can see it before in the placement preview and not do it.

Another small flaw I noticed is: If you return to your base from teleporting, some ladder corridors are closed and you cannot access higher rooms by using the ladder; the workaround is to press z on the corridor passage and then quit with right mouse. You can then access it.

Very interesting, I also noticed that ladder hatch accesses were a problem but did not know it would fix on the build menu access.

There is yet another problem with returning by teleport in that the ship will re-emerge buried in your building. That will probably not fix :)

Yes, I guess NMS has some 'set' places where it expects your ship to be after returning, if you build over this place you get a mess. I will try to build a landing pad as soon as possible, this should overcome it.
I have done some trials in Creative mode, it was fun - although the cubic rooms are tricky. Now, in Normal mode I think it's not worth starting with 'extended' building because you will likely change base location soon. Also I really wish they would give the glass recipes early, my rooms are too dark...

Unfortunately the landing pad does not help, I have four of them and the ship teleports back to the grass under one of my hydroponics gardens, well actually more like inside it.
First thing I did with base building?

Build a space elevator, then realized there's limit. Luckily there's no limit to how many times you can die, it can even be infinite mini game. Yes I jumped.

One can remove the building limit in the xml files, but I think there's a reason for this limit, the game may get unstable if you remove it.
