I'm having this weird problem where any alien I talk to on stations or outposts all are limited to one dialogue tree. I can ask for them to teach me a new word, practice words I've learned, and give them a relic (always the same kind of relic for their race) and that's it. There is sometimes a single alien in a back room on some stations that gives me the option to interact with them in some unique way but I'm fairly certain this is some kind of bug.
It isn't really gamebreaking or anything since missions still work fine but it is super boring that I can't interact with anyone any more than this.

Has anyone else had this issue/figured out how to fix it?

They used to have a bit more variety but it changed a couple of updates back. Space stations are really boring now, I only bother if I'm after a tech upgrade or to get more maps.
Wait, are you telling me they made all the alien dudes super generic on purpose? Why??

AFAIK it affects everyone. The old dialog lead-ins are still there but the possible responses now are all the same few options. I believe that it coincided with the "now the NPCs can walk around" update.
That...wicked sucks. I don't get why they would do that. What's the point of learning their language if there's no dialogue to use it with?? ahh well, thanks for the answers guys!

There still is one reason for learning their language - to translate the messages that pop up at waypoints such as observatories, operations centres, manufacturing facilities and quests. These are more important for newer players or those working on new saves.
Ha! I thought it was just bad rng luck in my case

Finished the Farmers quests (I think anyway, he seems to want to offer me more research .. but doesn't), since then I was hoping to come across random Geks on Stations offering a few Nip Nip buds. None anywhere so far.

Seems HG have brought more bugs where there were none before, again.
If you talk to the "farmer" and the Overseer and they offer the daily quest but it does not enter into the log make sure that in the discovery tab that you are online. When I am not "online" I am unable to add those base quests.
