Running windows 8.1 on my laptop and installed the game, but it wont launch. No errors or anything like that, just does nothing. Any ideas on this? I also tried run as admin and no difference

Try some standard things:

- Install DirectX 9 from this link to make sure all older components are there

- Try compatibility mode for Windows 7 and Windows XP (right-click the game's shortcut => Preferences => Compatibility tab)

And if 8.1 is anything like Win7, install outside of Programs or Programs(x86) - assuming 8.1 has that file structure.
