I'm on the Botuf the Black quest, looking for some Elven place.
The basement of house Halvasyn has a teleport, but I can't use it.
The priest at the Temple of Seldarine, says that is where the trial was held, but it is impossible to get into the catacombs. And there doesn't appear to be an entrance to the catacombs in there.
The Temple of the Triad has a elven door to a basement, but it needs a special key (and can't be bashed) But no one there wants to talk. Where is the key?

Is it any of these places?

I have found 3 maps labeled catacombs.
One with lots of rows, where all the fighting is.
One block shaped one with purple carpets, with a door I can't open, but I can see on the map, leads to the Temple of Moons.
& one block shaped one with a circle of menhirs & an island with statues, but nothing you can click on.
It also has a door that needs a specific key & cant be bashed.

I am not sure I can help you, anyway...
Did you find the book about Botuf in the library? Did you read every possible information without quitting? Did you speak with the librarian? In any case try to speak to him again and with other people in the library too.

Yes, I read everything in the library & spoke to the librarian, which told me who his next victims would be, & I witnessed their murders, & my journal was updated to tell me to look in an old elven area.

There was a person asking similar questions on the vault, & the mods author asked him to email him his saved game,
which would suggest a game breaking bug.
But I'm not sure if my game is bugged because I don't know exactly where I am supposed the meet Botuf or find the specific keys to the locked doors.

I am sorry, I don't think I can help you: as a matter of fact the Botuf quest seems to be particularly buggish, and you have probably found one of its bugs. :-/
