Hi guys, I recently started the original campaign for Neverwinter Nights, I've collected quite some loot I'd like to storage somewhere, It's been ages since I played it for the first time so I don't know If I can just use any chest or box I find around and my items will stay there, if someone wants to confirm this I'd be very grateful!

Cheers!

I know for a fact that there's a trunk at crossroads keep you can use. It is in one of the interior rooms you restore. And the key to open it is in another room you have to restore. I think the rooms are something like conference room, and bedroom (please forgive my wretched memory).

As far as all the random trunks, cabinets, bookcases, etc. you run into along the way, dunno. I was afraid to try them myself.

-edit- Oh hey! You were talking about NWN1 and my answer was for the other one. Sorry!

Whatever you put in any container should stay there for the entire chapter. When chapters change, you will lose access to the containers.

You might feel better though about extending your inventory capacity with magic bags.
You can drop things on the ground or throw them into containers; stuff doesn't disappear in NWN. However, if you cross a point of no return or enter a new chapter then you've lost the item.

Magic bags are always the best way to handle things. Always buy them from merchants whenever they're available. Particularly if you're a completionist you can acquire a lot of loot in the NWN1 OC and you'll need many bags to store it all.
