Please help.

I've downloaded NWN off GoG and every time I create a custom character if I change their skin or hair color it turns this silver color and stays that way.

If I try to play the game at that point, the world loads up with just the characters and some placeables, but the entire world is black... I can't move or do anything and exit out.

If I load up with a premade character everything looks fine.

I can provide screenshots if need be. I'm on Windows 7 64bit laptop with ATI 4650 and reinstalled DirectX a couple times (the june one)

Thanks :(

The 1.69 critical rebuild patch usually fixes this - note it's 325 mb ::

Thank you! This worked! :D
There is always a post about this at least once a week, despite it having been answered the same exact way at least 5 times.

Is it possible to get a topic stickied?
Not to be a critic, but isn't this kind of self defeating? I mean, the game seems to updated to 1.69 from the start of the download.

I recently bought this game and am experiencing the same issues as well, plus random crashes (i think it's due to Windows 7 64bit). Downloading the patch now, in hopes that it will solve all my problems... regarding the game, at least.

Looks can be deceiving. Though the executable reflects v1.69, there are about 400MB worth of missing game files that the Critical Rebuild is needed in order to obtain. Why these game files were missing is unknown (I never heard back on a support e-mail I sent them detailing the specifics).
Also, if you do not want to download the critical rebuild patch, there is an alternative. If you open up the colors and click higher than the actual box, it should pick other colors. For some reason the color boxes are out of the color window, around the "body" changing option. Cheers.
I never heard back on a support email either, and as for clicking above the color selectors shown, I wasn't able to get about every other row of colors that way.

Bottom line: GOG is selling a broken product. They're not even linking the fix in their official support threads, and they don't respond to customers. Horrible way to run a business. I know I won't be purchasing any other games here.
hey buddy, that was ONE game! You can't expect them to get every single thing right, they're a small business based in some european country. GOG is one of the only places to get stuff like this (and CHEAP), and it's easy to learn how to do everything right.

Please, don't say you won't buy anything else from gog because of one experience, that's kinda....Immature.

No offense, but if I go to Wal-mart and they're bread is all stale, I'm not going to get all flustered and storm out of the place with my middle finger in everyone's faces.

I'm especially not going to say, "I'm never shopping here AGAIN." because the next day I'd probably be in there looking for something else.
