A friend and I bought this game to play it together while I visited him in the christmas holidays.

We played over his LAN network while we were there, as it seemed logical.

However, he lives quite a while away, but we'd like to continue on the savegame from the session in the holidays over the interwebs, as LAN obviously isn't an option.

So, my question is: is it possible to load a LAN save and play it on the internet? And if so, how do I do it?

Yes, You can still play the same game over the internet. I would suggest useing the stand alone server. You can do it with the normal client the standalone server just gives you more freedom to come and go from the server. The server should be in your nwn folder, nwserver.exe
