I've scoured the FAQs I could find but I still haven't gotten a clear answer. Now that the game is available both on Steam and on GOG, do we know whether crossplay will be an option between the two?

Because neither Steam nor Galaxy takes part in the multiplayer connection process for NWN:EE (you connect via IP instead), it is crossplay-compatible with no special support for it required.

You can host a game on a GOG copy and a Steam copy owner can join it with no problems.
