Hey folks,

I'm about to begin a playthrough of SOU and will be continuing on to HotU afterwards.

It's been a while since I've played either and I am now planning my character in advance. I'm pretty sure with all the skills I'm planning to take that I won't have space for persuade, especially as it is not a class skill for any part of my build.

How difficult/miserable will my life be if I drop persuade completely?

edit: just checked and bluff/intimidate will be options, but again unsure if they'll be worth taking.

You can just skip the social skills. Mostly it will just get you better quest rewards (usually just more gold). Maybe talk your way out of a fight or two.

I'd only take social skills if they were class skills and you had everything else you want. When Playing a rogue, I will usually have some persuade. I never take the others unless playing a module that tells you social skills are important, which is not really any of the original campaigns.

Persuade tends to be the most used.
Bluff is the most entertaining when used.
Intimidate is the most evil option.

Thank you, good to know. I hate missing xp but the social skills just don't fit on my build.
Well, Persuade is a must-have for Paladin, IMO.
