Kapaun: Will it run under Win 10?
Can it be played in isometric perspective?
And/or are battles tactical/stoppable to issue orders?
Does someone know? :-)
Oh, and by the way: The same questions go for NWN 2 ...
While I don't run Windows 10, some people have asked about its compatibility with NWN 1 and NWN 2. These are probably the most relevant threads that will answer many of your questions:
NWN1 and/or NWN2 Windows 10 NWN2 and Win10? Any chance that NWN1 might get a compatibility patch in the future? Short answers:
- Both will run under Win 10, though you may have to do some legwork (the above threads should help point you in the correct direction).
- Both can be played in isometric perspective, but not in the same way as games like Baldur's Gate/Torchlight/etc. NWN 1 can be largely fixed but you are free to change the perspective if you wish. For NWN 2, the camera is more difficult to adjust to get the perspective you want, but with some work you should be able to get it done.
- Both are real-time, not turn-based. NWN 1 has pause though, so you can plan ahead, but you only control your main character while your party members follow. They can be issued orders though, but that's somewhat limited. I haven't played NWN 2 much and not for a while, but I believe it's similar except you can control each party member, not just your main character.
