I'm looking for an up to date list of enhancement mods for NWN 1. Primarily graphical changes texture and model swaps and enhancements to the NWN 1 Campaign and its expansions.

Those don't really exist. There are some client overrides which try to improve the look of some tilesets/creatures and others that try to add color to icons or add fingers to hands...but in general "mods" in NWN means something very different than in most games.

This isn't like Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Skyrim where people "mod" the main campaign. In NWN "mod" means "module" which is a self contained game in its own right -- each chapter of the NWN campaigns is a module, for example. And there are thousands of custom modules out there which can fall into the category of single player campaign, multiplayer campaign, or online persistent world.

And those actual modules often have a lot of custom content installed in them that have improved models/tilesets/rules/etc -- but you cannot transfer them over to the official campaigns.

In other words, stop thinking of NWN as "the campaign and its expansions." That makes up 1% of the content in NWN. The other 99% is user made stuff and I can easily think of half a dozen campaigns off the top of my head that are far better than the Bioware campaigns (and the second/third Bioware campaigns are pretty decent).

As said above, mods are "modules," but what you are looking for do exist. The things you're looking for are called "overrides."

There's different models for different creatures and whatnot, but nothing is super-great to make a big impact on your game.

If I were you, I'd just go ahead and play it vanilla. It's deccent enough and the art all works well together. Once you start getting a bunch of overrides, it looks like amateur hour. Weird colors, high res and low res together, weird backgrounds for items, terrible color gradients and all kinds of other junk.

I do like Amethyst Dragon's spell color override. There's a few monster overrides that add a little and there's an AI override that lets AI open doors, but it wrecks the intended encounters.

There's also the fun problem of weird issues that happen when you put overrides in and out a lot. It can really mess up your game and then you have reinstall.

For the best experience, I'd recommend leaving it alone and enjoying the game.

For a spectacular graphic overhaul, try NWShader:

It does just that, adding shaders for several graphic effects such as distance blur and such and light effects, but the overall effect is nothing short of amazing. Also, installation is very easy, basically copying files into the NWN game folder.

EDIT: there's the little downside that it certainly hits your GPU a bit, so probably I wouldn't recommend it if you're running a pretty old card. But if your card is relatively new, by all means go for it (mine is a GF 7600GT and runs flawlessly)

Holy smokes. I've never heard of this. It looks quite a bit better in the screenshots. I'll be giving this a try during my next adventure.
