I am trying to Launch NWN2 complete. I have uninstalled, restarted and installed twice with no success. I have direct play installed and Direct x is updated to the latest version.

what happens is, I click play from the Galaxy Launcher. The screen goes black like it is loading, it then drops back to windows, no error message.

I have tried compatibility mode, Disable full screen optimizations, running as Admin.

System specs are:

Ryzen 5 1600 (stock 3.2ghz)
16GB RAM
GTX 1060 6GB graphics card
windows 10 pro

Does launching from the 'nwn2.exe' file directly make any difference?

The game loaded for me but I had problems changing the resolution to wide screen. I had to switch to windowed mode then change the resolution. Accept changes. Exit restart the game and switch back to full screen.


Maybe edit the nwn2,ini file (should be in Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2) to not be in full screen and to initial resolution of 1920 x 1080.

Makes no difference at all. I should also note I am using 2 monitors, not sure if that makes much difference. It never messed things up before now

Good news I seem to have fixed it. Borderless Gaming seems to interfere with the exe file

I want to drop in and bump this thread as I am having the same issues. In addition to OPs methods, I have reinstalled the June 2010 DirextX SDK as well, which was a suggestion on another forum for this issue, but to no avail.

The game just refuses to launch or give me anything to work with so I can properly troubleshoot.
