During act 1 I stored items in the Sunken Flagon's magician's workbench. After the Sunken Flagon cutscenes during the beginning of act 2, I immediately went to check on the items and they were all gone. Reloaded, and zoned multiple times, and nada. Before I replay a few hours of the game (which I absolutely despise doing)....

1) Is there anyway to fix this without replaying the tail end of act 1
2) Since I assume the answer to #1 is no, is there any place to store items from act 1 -> 2 that is safe? (eg fort locke)

If the workbench was reset (and it sounds like that's what happened) then there's nothing you can do short of reloading an earlier save from Act 1. As for safe storage places, I know you get a storage chest in the Flagon (right next to the door), but I can't recall whether you get that in Act 1 or whether it only appears in Act 2. As for safe storage places, quite a few areas reset between Act 1 and 2, so nothing in particular comes to mind that would definitely be safe. My recommendation would be to just load up the characters you aren't using with whatever you want stored. Between their normal inventories and some bags of holding this should give you more space than you could need unless you're saving every single item you come across.
Thanks for the reply.

At the beginning of act 2, there is no storage chest. Whenever it does appear, are there any bugs/issues I should know about? (Don't mind spoilers if you need them to answer that.) If there are multiple chests, are they shared?

Slightly off topic, but in other D&D games (I bought the pack), are there any major storage bugs/issues/etc I should know about, and again, don't mind spoilers if they're needed to explain.

As you have discovered, the workbench (any workbench) is not safe storage. If you are a hoarder, use the console and give yourself a Bag Of Holding -- you get one in chapter 2 anyway IIRC:

You don't need to reload an old save. You're currently at a stage where you're going into an alternate (damaged) version of the tavern. Continue playing a little longer, and once you pass an event, the original tavern will be restored and your items will still be there. I stored my items in a workbench, too.

Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to remember roughly when the flagon will be restored (whether approx how long it will take, or what event proceeds the return of the flagon)? I just got to the point where Bishop joined my party... ie when you get back to the flagon after the jerro farm is invaded by Githyanki.
I don't remember exactly, but I think you need to rescue Shandra.

ohh cool.. I didn't know that... I always just figured it was a bug.. and i guess it would be consitered that, as the new Map file doesn't have the workbench attached to the old config.

Nice to know everything comes back... I always just picked everything up and maxed out my inventory for that short time.. good to know there is another option.
