NWN2 on Win8. Sometimes when I pause the game everything freezes. The mouse cursor still moves but clicks/keys don't respond. I can't ALT+TAB, but I can CTRL+ALT+DEL and launch task manager. The process shows as "Not Responding" and I have to kill it. Doesn't happen real often but enough to be annoying. Anyone know why this happens?

Does setting the cpu affinity to a single processor help? I remember when the game first came out it had problems on some multi-core systems.

I restarted my machine and the issue hasn't resurfaced. If it does I will try adjusting the affinity and see if that makes a difference.

Happened again today and I figured out what is causing it... apparently my pinky finger missed the TAB key and instead hit the tilde key which opened a small command console that I totally didn't see at first. So of course all of my typing was going straight into the console and it appeared as if the keys had no effect. This was especially true of the spacebar since it leaves no visible characters on the screen.

So: user error :)
