Just wondering of the prestige class is useful. 5 levels. You lose 2 skill points per level (10 skill points total) which you'll get back in conversation skills, but really you could have just put those in those skills anyway. You get a 10% merchant bonus it seems and 2 feats at levels 2 and 4.

This will cost you 5 normal thief levels. So the 10% merchant is ok, but any main in the OC already is good with their merchant bonus's, plus you'll probably have some appraise on a thief. Again the skill points cancel out.

I was just wondering if the 2 feats are worth it. Does that mess up your normal thief bonus abilities and feats. If they don't mesh with your normal thief leveling up and abilities, then it seems pretty useless to pick up shadow thief levels just for the 10% merchant bonus.
Never found a use.

Regular Rogue is better IMO, and don't see the point of mixing with regular Rogue.

Maybe useful if you want a Rogue dip, but need to avoid XP penalty, since this one is a prestige class.
Yea the only reason i would think to take 5 levels shadow thief is to make up a merchant/conversation type thief, not a thief thief. You'd lose 10 skill points in thief skills but gain that back with higher conversation skills (diplomacy, etc). So compared to a normal thief, you'd have higher speech skills and lower thief skills. Good for a leader/merchant type, but not so good if your making your thief something else.

This i guess is ok in the OC, you'll find a 3rd party member thief, you can tailor your main for non-thief stuff like speech, appraise, other skills while your 2nd thief focus's on actual thief skills. Make sure you don't pick the 2 feats the shadow thief gets at levels 2 and 4, and pick those.

Not a bad choice if your making your main thief a leader more so than a thief, but really, i personally don't see the need either. IF and only if like long ago you didn't have the merchant friend feat on your main, that 10% merchant bonus would be something you might like if your making up a merchant/thief, but already having the merchant friend feat kind of makes the 10% shadow thief bonus obsolete.

No, "Shadow Thief" is needed for "Feint" feat to work more properly, since you need a lot of "Bluff" for it (40+ Bluff).
Here are some builds for it:

It's a boost, but not needed. +4 on a 40+ bluff is 10%. Increase you Feint success by 10% isn't going to make or break your build.

But OK, it helps Feint based builds.

But really, if you max those skills with a normal thief, you would almost never fail checks anyway, so it seems rather pointless to me. Also 5 levels is not a great stopping point. Best to stick with groups of 4 to maximize the BAB.

IMO, it's more of a "flavor" choice, than mechanical advantage.

For a couple of my Rogues in NWN2, I chose Neverwinter Nine instead. 3 Levels gets you sneak attack boost equal to 3 levels of Shadow Thief, but at Full BAB, HP boost, Will Save boost, and movement speed boost.
